This summer I had the joy of seeing beautiful McKenzi again. I captured her senior pictures back in Salt Lake in 2014. We had a blast then from the gardens to the city rooftops and above the city with the sparkling city lights in the foothills. All the glitter and glam fashion fun. So I knew we would have a blast again for her wedding!
McKenzi and Trent's ranch wedding in Wyoming was nothing short of beautiful. Not only did we get to witness them tie the knot in front of the beautiful mountains in the distance, but they had the most take your breath away moment of being surrounded by horses in the field when the ranch hand let them out. Surround by beautiful yellow flowers and warm evening sun. The day was completed surrounded by their family who most stayed up on the property with them for a festive night celebrating McKenzi and Trent.
Box Y Ranch was already a well-known getaway location for these two as they are well acquainted with the hunting lifestyle. Trent even runs a
youtube channel sharing their adventures and offering tips.
One of
Trents hat's he sells. Very much apart of the vibe of the crew.
Love letter readings are a fun way to do a "non-first look" moment as I call it. Calm any pre-ceremony jitters as you step aside from the craziness of the morning and remember that love you share and are committing to.
I love how many of Trent and McKenzie's friends brought our their talents to share at this wedding. McKenzie's dad made this beautiful arch for the ceremony. They wanted to reflect the mountain vibe and did just that. I have seen many simple triangular arches, but this really had a grant effect.
I don't know if it was planned, but a sweet little moment non-the-less. McKenzie's dad pulled out a handkerchief as they were about to walk down the aisle. Such a tender gesture.
It's always interesting to see how stories unfold. McKenzi and Trent's parents crossed paths in high school apparently and even dated once. So that is how they all knew each other and connected again when Trent and McKenzi met. Made me think of my own children and should I reconnect to old high school friends again, perhaps our kids would end up together.
I don't normally post a lot of behind-the-scenes. It is fun to see what our second shooters capture. I will tell you one thing, wedding photographers get a squat workout on the wedding day! When I capture a wedding I want to be close enough to fully capture key moments, like putting on the rings, but not blocking the view for your wedding guests! There is an art to it. And we had the joy of working alongside the talented

Every ceremony needs to have a good laugh or two. Whether joking about the beginning of your story and just how unexpected things turned around. Laughter, then tears and hearts full of joy.

McKenzi and her bestie! Sydney made a wonderful maid of honor and really helped throughout the day. They have been besties since they were little and supported each other through one another's dreams. Sydney just opened a flower shop called, That Flower Shop based in Wyoming.
