When the door opened to meet this couple in Saratoga for their consultation I was greeted with a warm welcome hug. Patsy has one of those charming loving ways and the two of them welcomed me into their home that was beautifully decorated with colorful art. As we discussed details about their day, Robert even went to grab his blue alligator shoes for the day. What a fun accent and sure teller of their fun and unique vibe. These two love riding their motorcycles together and hitting up some Jazz dance clubs, including Le Jazz Hot, who performed at their wedding. Robert plays the saxophone and played years ago in a band but now plays more as a hobby. Music was very important on their special day as they incorporated it in so many ways.
Her beautiful and playful tea length dress decorated with chiffon flowers and lace.
Although these two didn't have the typical large wedding party with bridesmaids and groomsmen running about it chaos, they were surrounded with all of their close friends who popped in and out and helped Patsy get ready.
Patsy stands in front of one of many colorful paintings in their homes. Naturally, I had to incorporate all that fun color and this style suggested a more vibrant edit to their day.
Her three brothers walked her down the aisle. So sweet and special.
Before the official ceremony began, they had their own little first dance.
I loved Robert's shoes that really popped.
Dried flowered wrapped in paper cones of their wedding ceremony song were tossed in the air at the end of the ceremony.
Patsy's mother was unable to attend, but how awesome is technology so she could still be present via facetime. "We did it!" She tells her.
When I photograph families, we at some point create a family "sandwich"
The ambiance of the beautiful French Gypsy Jazz music playing throughout the evening was so relaxing and romantic.
Some good laughs, sweet happy tears and plenty of hugs were shared during the toasts.
Oh, these two. Does it get any more romantic?
Matt and I got to shoot this event together. Being 5 months pregnant, I didn't want to brave the day by myself! It is always nice having an extra had with setups, lighting etc.
Robert joined in with the band a few times on his saxaphone.
